CYPRESS, TX — A Houston area non-profit has channeled their creative talent and their desire to help their fellow human beings, into creating beautiful quilts, winter caps and scarves that recognize the contributions of first responders and help the less fortunate in communities all over Houston.

The group, which includes 25 active members, makes hats and quilts for organizations such as hospice centers, memory care centers, the Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Country, the Shaken Baby Syndrome Campaign, and the American Heart Association.  The group received notoriety as a result of their "Harvey's Heroes" Initiative where hand knit "Hero Hats" were distributed to first res ponders in the aftermath of one of Houston's, the Nation's, most damaging hurricanes to date.
