HERO HATS

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey we created Project Hero Hats to acknowledge those that rose above the occasion to help others. We wanted to Honor Heroism.  We placed these hats in the hands of first responders.

DISTRIBUTING THROUGH OUR AMBASSADORS

We distributed 307 Hero Hats last year. We sent 135 of them to Las Vegas after the 1 October shooting to the Heroes that helped.  We are making 583 for the firefighters in California who battled fires and mudslides that threatened so many.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE A S LONG AS THERE ARE HEROES

Every day we find more men and women who deserve a Hero Hat, and we will make this happen. Let us know if you have a name to add to our growing list of those that deserve a Hero Hat.

The group, which includes 25 active members, makes hats and quilts for organizations such as hospice centers, memory care centers, the Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Country, the Shaken Baby Syndrome Campaign, and the American Heart Association.  The group received notoriety as a result of their "Harvey's Heroes" Initiative where hand knit "Hero Hats" were distributed to first res ponders in the aftermath of one of Houston's, the Nation's, most damaging hurricanes to date.
